Mr. Willobee earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Michigan State University, then began training as a surgical assistant in Dearborn, Michigan. He has assisted in over 10,000 procedures in every surgical subspecialty.
Mr. Willobee parlayed his surgical assisting experience into the Biotech field by dissecting cadaveric cardiac, vascular, and orthopedic tissues for allograft processing and transplantation. He then transitioned into the role of bioskills training specialist for surgeon customers at the same company, then took a position with an orthopedic device company and managed rep and surgeon training initiatives, as well as production of training animations and videos. James was also instrumental in product development research and initiatives.
After several years in a medical education role, my relationships with the independent distribution network created an opportunity to conduct nation-wide compliance training. James earned a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Compliance and Ethics from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010. James wanted to be closer to home and lessen his travel, so began teaching high school science and math in Pensacola, Florida.
James’ experience as a surgical assistant and understanding of medicine and surgery have proven vital to him, and have opened many professional doors. He is currently planning to start a surgical assistant program in the Pensacola, Florida area.
Since 2008, James and his wife Ashley have lived in Gulf Breeze, Florida, with our two young daughters Ellen and Jane. They are actively involved in the community, and spend volunteer time in support of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and Interfaith Missions. James’ personal interests include anything and everything family-related, such as camping, creating art, gardening, cycling, swimming, and adventures in science and nature. He is a guitar enthusiast, and collects foreign paper currency as visual art.
